I had an awsome weekend!
Friday night I went to Spooktacular (ya'll missed out!) with Beck Davis, Joy Brookes and Courtney Forbes. We all dressed up like pirates and had a blast. We even went in the dollar store dressed as pirates. After that I went to my first TBC basketball game. Those are awsome if you have never been. After that I went to a movie night with my Tau Theta girls. We watched Charade with Audrey Hepburn. I was too tired to finish though and left halfway through. I also got asked to the Greek thing that night.
Saturday I got up early and left for Lakeland, FL. The Aletheians did a youth activity. We sang and served food at the Garage Academy Awards. The name of the youth group is the "Garage" and they all made videos and had awards for all the captions and best picture. It was cute. Sunday night we went to a nice church that gave up some cash and a really nice dinner. On the way home I watched most of X-Men 3, The Last Stand. It was good. Well, I hope all of ya'll had a good weekend too. Oh, and I managed to finish most of my doctrines paper.

Southern Women's Show

So, it's way too late to be posting, but I'm going to anyways. Last Friday night, mom and I went to the Southern Women's Show at the Prime Osborne. We had a great time! It was awsome getting to spend some time with my mom that wasn't stressful or rushed. So here are some of the cool things that happened.
We both got our make-up done for free.
I won a gift bag from Hanes (you can imagine for yourselves what it contained).
I bought a really cool headband, an awsome hippe dress that I am going to wear to the rennisance festival this year and a cute little purse that is reminicint of a Chinese take out box.
We got lots of free food (Chick-fil-a, chicken and dumplins, pb&j wraps, ham, etc . . . )
There was a country music look a like contest and Willie Nelson won a trip to the Country Music Awards in Nashville. I got to sing along to "Me and My Gang" in front of my mom who actually didn't make a big deal about it, and what's more she actully listened to my Rascal Flatts CD when we got in the car. She liked it, especially "Elsworth, KA" (or whatever it's called) and she thought the one about playing a country song backward was funny!
But the best part was when we were filling out cards to win a free security system and when we walked away she told me that she made up a phone number. Is my mom the coolest or what?!
(BTW she came and rescued me tonight at 11 after I locked my keys in my car. God bless her, I owe her one!)
Well, all in all we had a great time and I reccomend it to all you ladies when it returns again next year.

Laffy Taffy

A sweet and silly break from your hectic day . . .
Disclaimer: although I did actually find these on packages, they are lame (as most Laffy Taffy jokes are) don't blame me if you read them . . .

What's yellow and wears a mask?

the lone lemon

What kind of key can't open a lock?

a MONkey!

Why do some people never go bald?

They have a reseeding hairline (this one took me a min.)

And my favorite . . .
How do you make an egg roll?

You push it.

(I'm so dry)

Anyways, have a great day . . .oh and I saw "Open Season" last night at the IMAX at World Golf (we're allowed to go to those durring the school year). I reccommend it if you need a movie theatre fix (not that I typically would), but it was pretty cute.

I am changing some things

I'm taking the plunge. I'm jumping off the deep end. I'm going to let it all go and see what happens. I have decided not to date (at least not in the conventional way that the world does). I have been reading the book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" and I know it's true. I have had this book for many years and have read it before, but lets just say I didn't heed it very well the first time.
Does she not want to date? Does she want to get married? Is she crazy? Yes, yes, and most likely (but that would be unrelated to this). I want to be in a realtionship with someone very much and there are guys around me that I think could work, but I don't want to spend all my time worrying about it, or getting myself into one silly relationship after another. One thing that the book said was to do was to stop looking at the guys around me as potential boyfriend material (guilty) and start looking at them as brothers in Christ that I can be a blessing to. I'm only going to be with one man (unless he dies or something) for the rest of my life, so why get too close to anybody until I God shows him to me?
The only thing I'm still confused on is God's timing, but I trust Him. Honestly, I would like to be in "the" relationship by the time I am getting ready to graduate, which is only about a year and eight months from now, but if that's not God's plan, that's ok. You see the book says that if your not ready to get married you shouldn't ask for anyone's commitment to you and I perfectly agree. However, how am I going to know when that is? I know I'm just going to have to trust God. He has a perfect plan that I need to just relax and let Him handle. I mean, my God is so big that I don't even have to worry about finding this man, God can have him find me. And if this whole not dating thing works, then he will be on board with it too. This post of mine is starting to sound like a personal or something, but I promise it's not. It just seems that if I post stuff on here I am more apt to stick with it. Well, I'd appreciate your feedback . . .
BTW - the only real hard part is just seeing all you dumb couples around me and wondering why that's not for me, but knowing all the while that I just have to follow His plan. I know this is the direction He is leading me in and I just have to trust Him.
