Moonlighting as a lunch lady
I started work at Trinity's lunch room yesterday, hairnet and all. It was actually kind of fun. I did the chicken sandwhiches and hamburgers. Thank goodness I had help though, or those kids would have been waiting a lot longer. I was only able to stick around for Jr. High lunch, and they seem to be into pretty much the same thing. The entree, for example, was the same sandwhich dipped in BBQ or hot sauce, but we sold way more of the plain ones. I like the BBQ. I guess that just comes with age and a sophistication of taste. But, it looks like I may be working both there and the coffee shop, so come see me sometime (not sure if I can cut ya a deal but I'll try). = )
In other culinary news, I was getting very close to the perfect corn muffins (part of my personal quest to obtain decent kitchen skills), when I realize that I have added baking soda, not baking powder. Looks like I'll have to try again with batch # 3, and they have to be good this time! My poor mother!
Catch ya later!

Hey Michelle! It's Jen Bolan. Well, it sounds like life at Trinity is busy as usual. I hope your classes go well!
I love your blog title! I started reading the Silmarillion this summer after a year's hiatus or so. I like it a lot. Tons of beautiful names in there. I still have far to go and I didn't take it with me to CCC. Yeah, I think God is really going to teach me a lot here. I'll have another blog shortly, but it will be more patriotic than spiritual in nature.
Mmmm....corn muffins...
